Part of the South West Coast Path in North Devon
The South West Coast Path

The South West Coast Path stretches for 630 miles from Minehead on the fringes of Exmoor to Poole Harbour in Dorset. The coast path will suit all types of walker from those who just want a gentle stroll to those who enjoy a long distance challenge. For about ¾ of the route, the coast path is protected by different organisations: 1 National Park, 5 Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and 1/3 is owned by the National Trust.

There is so much to take in from scenery, wildlife, heritage, geology and culture. North Devon’s coastline is impressively diverse: wide sandy bays protected by broad headlands, salt marshes and sand dune systems and mudflats of the Torridge Estuary that attracts a wide variety of wildfowl.

The official website gives detailed information to any potential walker, focussing particularly on the gradient, the distance, the time to allow, and any obstacles that have to be taken into consideration and much, much more.
