Named after Charles Kingsley’s novel Westward Ho! is known for its stunning 4km beach and pebble ridge which runs all the way to the Torridge Estuary. The pebble bank protects the Northam Burrows which is home to a huge variety of flora and fauna. It is a perfect day out for swimmers, surfers and sunbathers alike. In winter, it is an exhilarating place to walk and to watch the hardy all year round surfers!

Facilities include shops, parking, toilets, tennis courts, putting green and amusement arcade. There are restaurants, beach cafes and snack bars to provide refreshments.
